biography

Born in 1988 in Amman, Jordan, Hamza Abuhamdia of Palestinian nationality, is a multidisciplinary artist and activist (photography, writing, performance, satire, video). He graduated from Sciences Po Paris with a master’s degree in urban planning in 2018, and from the German-Jordanian University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2011. He is an architect and urban planner, and has worked in the construction industry in France, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Germany. He has published articles in engaged newspapers (Jadaliyya, Observateurs of France 24 and Mykali Magazine), has exhibited his urban photography project Amman of Hamza at Spring Sessions in Jordan (2016), and has recorded a podcast on children and women from Jordan and their rights to access the nationality (Sowt, 2020). He has participated in conferences, classes and seminars, in Jordan and France, about architecture, cities, space, public policy and sociology. He arrived in France in 2016, is a member of the agency of artists in exile since 2021, and followed a training about exhibition’s cultural mediation in partnership with the Pinault Collection.
